Pastor Rick grew up in Gaston County where he currently resides in Dallas, North Carolina. A native of Gaston County, Pastor Rick is happily married to Mitzi Ivey, and they have two sons. Kolton, who is currently serving our country in the Navy, and he lives with his wife in Hampton, Virginia. Luke is a 2020 High School graduate and currently is employed as a Mechanic.

 

Rick is a graduate of Emmanuel Baptist University where he received his undergraduate degree in Theology. Rick holds two Masters degrees, one in Biblical Studies and Theology, as well as a Doctorate of Theology, from The North Carolina College of Theology.

 

Pastor Rick has served faithfully on staff at Berea Church as the Senior Pastor since 2013. He loves to play music and sing in the church.

 

Pastor Rick’s absolute passion is the life, growth, health, and effect of the local church. He believes that every local church should strive to have a significant impact for the Kingdom, beginning in the local community and reaching the world.

Rick was called into ministry in 1997. He has served as a Student Pastor, Pastor to Men, and Associate Pastor.
